"Chapter 18: Don't Upset the Applecart!"

The haunting started quite simply.   He would awaken
every morning and find all ten of the kitchen cabinets
standing wide open.  They had magnetic locks on them to
keep them secured but, for some unexplainable reason,
they just would not stay closed.  Every morning for over a
week, he had to take a few moments to shut all of the
cabinets and stand puzzled over why they kept being
opened and what unseen presence was playing this prank
on him.

He told his parents what was happening and his father
laughed and tried to explain the events away.   But then
things became harder to explain.

One night, he got ready for bed and took note of the
jewelry box, framed picture, and cologne bottle which sat
on his dresser about six feet across the room.  Lying down,
he fell into a deep sleep.  Suddenly, he began to feel things
falling on the bed and woke up thinking that he was
having a bad dream.  Unfortunately, the ‘bad dream’ was
nothing of the sort.  There, lying on the covers of his bed,
were the jewelry box, picture, and cologne bottle from his
dresser—thrown clear across the room onto his bed by
some unseen hand.   Shaken, he began to realize that
something rather unnatural was happening in the home.

Members of the 12th Alabama, Company C, Civil War
Re-Enactors, visited the Stover House during
Riegelsville Heritage Day ceremonies on October 1, 2006.
Several pictures of the Company were taken in front of
the building.  The very first photo in the series is shown
below.  There are two faces in the window of the house
in the upper right hand corner.  One in color, one in
contrast.  Click the thumbnail for a closer look.

In the second photo
there are several orbs in the attic of the Stover home.
